On the day of its availability announcement, the three major South Korean mobile operators SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus recorded 200 thousand orders of Samsung Galaxy Note 8, with an additional 70 thousand units the following day.
The amount is higher when compared with its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 7 which on the day of the announcement last year, recorded orders totaling 160 thousand units in South Korea.
However, this device then experienced a recall due to problems in the battery causing the incident burned the device.
Meanwhile at the beginning of this year, Samsung Galaxy S8 was recorded sold as many as 260 thousand units in the first sale on the day of its launch in South Korea.
During the pre-order period, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is booked as many as 850 thousand units, higher than the 380 thousand units of Galaxy Note 7 orders in the previous year.
