ARM logo
The ARM is one company making chipsets architecture focused on Smartphones. However, the ARM is now reported to be working on a special chipset for the central device of the PC. In fact, the company claims to be confident his artificial chipset can conquer this artificial Intel chipset in 2020. ARM's commitment to working on PC chipsets is proven by its bespoke chipset for Always Connected PC devices powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.

Not just that, the company also expose chipset roadmap in 2020. Reported by Windows was Central, on the ARM chipset roadmap plan will make a special PC chipset will present with increased 15 percent better than the previous. The improved chipset will continue until 2020.

ARM roadmap

In the period of the ARM are sure their chipsets will have better performance than Intel, but Intel chipset performance record would not have evolved over the past two years. See the possibilities, it seems impossible that this could happen.

However, if later the performance chipset could ARM the equivalent performance of Intel chips for PCs, this will create more and more devices that use the ARM chipset, not limited to smartphones, tablets and other devices. In other words, will be more and more a PC device comes with an ARM chipset, e.g. Apple is rumored to be launching ARM processor with Mac.

Samsung Exynos 5100 supports smartphones with 5G networks

Samsung Exynos 5100 (support 5G)
Samsung has developed the 5G modem, and first, flaunt it in term of technology Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this year. Now, Samsung has officially announced the product and named it Exynos 5100. This is the first Samsung 5G modem and in accordance with the standards of 3GPP.

Like a modem on Exynos 9810 chipset that is on the Galaxy S9, S9 + and Note 9, Exynos 5100 modem built in the process of creating a supportive network of 10nm old as 2 g GSM/CDMA, 3 g WCDMA, TD-SCDMA HSPA, LTE and 4 g in a single chip solution.

Qualcomm reportedly is preparing Snapdragon 1000 is made specifically for the PC

Qualcomm Snapdragon 845
Qualcomm tries to break into the PC processor market. Qualcomm released Snapdragon 850 for use on laptops.

However, the chip is actually a Snapdragon 845 with a higher speed. Given Snapdragon 845 is a processor for smartphones, that means, Snapdragon 850 still will not be able to compete with Intel processors.

Now, news emerged that Qualcomm will make a special processor for PCs, which is supposed to be named Snapdragon 1000.

WinFuture successfully found information related to the processor SDM1000 which is supposedly a Snapdragon 1000 made for PC. Snapdragon 1000 will have a performance that is not less than Intel's Core processor.

Compared to a CPU with an ARM architecture that only measures 20 millimeters x 15 millimeters, Snapdragon 1000 will have a much larger size. In addition, it is rumored, this CPU will use 12 watts of power, much higher than the power required by the smartphone processor.

The information circulated, Snapdragon 1000 mentioned will use the next architecture of ARM, Cortex-A76, with a speed of 35 percent higher and supports up to 16GB of RAM and storage up to 128GB.

Unfortunately, it is still unknown when Qualcomm will announce the SDM1000. While Intel is busy to make the 10nm processor and the growing popularity of PCs that use ARM-based processors.

GeForce GTX 1050 3GB for gamers shown with a limited budget

3GB GeForce GTX 1050 for PC
Surprisingly the new GeForce GTX 1050 from 3 GB has arrived, a model that no one expects but that can be very important.

They may make some of the best GPUs on the market, but there's something that Nvidia still has to much improve on in the name of their products.

The 3GB GTX 1050 release today is the latest of these confusing names. You might think it's the same 2GB GTX 1050 that was released in October 2016, but with one more GB of memory, is not it?

GeForce GTX 1050 3GB, Released from the latest Nvidia

Actually, the 3 GB GTX 1050 looks much more like the GTX 1050 Ti, it shares many of its features and the strength should not be too far from that model. We did not face the upgraded GTX 1050, but before 1050 Ti decreased in some aspects and improved on the others.

The original 2 GB 1050 is not a bad image, but it is only recommended if low cost is very important. If you want to play the current top, it's preferable to choose 1050 Ti.

The Pascal GP107 chip of 1050 3 GB is very similar to 1050 Ti. It has exactly the same number of CUDA cores, for example, what is striking is that it is higher than 1050 Ti in the frequency part of the 1392 MHz base, and can reach up to 1518 MHz. That is an advantage of 102 MHz and 126 MHz each compared to 1050 Ti.

But that does not mean that 3 GB 1050 is better than 1050 Ti. The memory interface is only 96 bits (128 bits at 1050 of 2 GB and 1050Ti) and fixed memory bandwidth at 84 GB / s. Therefore, it has more memory than 1050 of 2 GB but is slower. In addition, 1050 Ti has 1 GB more memory.

Who is 3GB GTX 1050 for?

By not seeing the first result, is imagine that 1050 of 3 GB will remain slightly below 1050 Ti, though it will depend heavily on game games that stream lots of information (like textures), will see more memory speed decreases. Likewise, prices are also expected to be lower than the 1050 Ti price.

However, this launch means that it is unlikely that a new generation of low-grade Nvidia graphics will arrive this year. In the high range we expect things to be interesting, so maybe 3 GB 1050 will be the only launch in this range for 2018.

Intel Shows Xeon Scalable Gold 6138P with CPU and FPGA chips that can be programmed at once

Intel Xeon Scalable processor with integrated FPGA
Intel has announced a new and special version of the Scalable Xeon processor, fitted with an internal FPGA chip that accompanies the dead CPU. The Xeon Scalable 6138P is currently supplied by Intel to selected customers. It includes an ARGA 10 GX 1150 FPGA chip and is proposed for special use in data centers.

Both components are connected to each other through Intel's Ultra Path Interconnection technology, thanks to which CPU and FPGA chips can access the data contained in system memory and in the FPGA cache chip without data replication or overhead access to memory.

The Arria 10 GX 1150 chip is completely programmable and integrates 1.15 million logical elements internally, customizable according to the type of usage demanded by the user.

Intel did not specify the CPU components coupled to the FPGA but conceivably could be a mirror image pattern of the Gold Xeon 6138P, with 20 internal cores with a base clock frequency of 2 GHz and Turbo frequencies lasting up to 3.7 GHz.

Additional information, Fujitsu is one of the first Intel partners to adopt the Xeon Scalable 6138P solution in its own system. The company plans to combine these CPUs with their RAS solution in terms of usage in a specified software network system.

Motherboard shipments are expected to fall 10% this year

Global component shipments of motherboards are predicted to fall by 10 percent by 2018. Predictions compiled from distribution line holders are also based on a declining PC market towards the end of last year, especially the assembled PC sector. The self-assembled PC sector is also expected to drop by 15 percent for the same year.

Global shipments of motherboards from major manufacturers such as ASUS, MSI, and GIGABYTE reach 75 million units by 2013.

This number dropped to less than 50 million units the next three years. By 2017, global motherboard shipments are projected to fall back to 43 million units.

From some major manufacturers, GIGABYTE has a big share in this decline. They are restructuring the business, resulting in a reduction in shipments to 12.6 million units by 2017.

Previously, they managed to supply 16.2 million units of motherboards to the world. However, GIGABYTE is predicted to stabilize again in the first half of 2018. Analysts are optimistic the Taiwanese company can restore their lost market.

Despite the decline, the motherboard gaming market continues to grow. This positive trend is supported by an increasingly competitive price for all market classes. This is also one of the reasons motherboard manufacturers deliver more gaming variants, including for economical classes.

ASUS still dominates the gaming motherboard market, with a mastery of about 70 percent. The supplier also mentioned that the remaining 30 percent of the available market became a struggle for other producers, which is considered difficult to give a loophole to increase sales.

Intel will enlarge the capacity of Optane SSD 900P

Intel Optane SSD 900P
Intel is already long enough to play in the storage line. One of its flagship products today is the Intel Optane SSD 900P which is claimed to have the best performance in its class. The new SSD is available with a capacity of 280GB and 480GB, and Intel plans to expand its capacity. Intel released new supporting documents for Optane SSD 900P.

In the document mentioned two new variants for this SSD is with a capacity of 950GB and 1.5TB. This is certainly a big leap considering the capacity offered will double.

Increased capacity is increasingly attractive, but Intel does not want to just add capacity. The new Optane SSD 900P variant is claimed to be more power efficient than ever.

In addition, Intel will also create a new look in the sales package and most importantly is Intel will directly embed the new firmware into this SSD.

If using the same price scale for the 280GB and 480GB variants, the new Optane SSD 900P variant will certainly cost more than US $ 1000. Surely the price is quite expensive compared with its competitors.
