Apple Ready to Compete with Netflix?

Apple has just launched its inaugural series devoted exclusively to Apple Music customers. Although the new project premiered, Apple reportedly has a serious plan working on similar impressions.

Quoted from BGR, the plan was demonstrated by Apple by recruiting experts in the production of television series. Is Jamie Erlicht and Zack van Amburg who just officially announced joined the department of the Apple program.

Both are not strangers in the world of television. Prior to joining Apple, they served as president for Sony Pictures Television since 2005.


Under the leadership of Erlicht and Van Amburg, Sony Picture Television successfully spawned a number of famous series produced for Amazon, Hulu, and Netflix. Some of these titles are Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, and Preacher.

Unfortunately, not revealed what kind of event will be guarded by both people. But SVP Internet Software and Service Apple, Eddy Cue, makes sure Apple will release exciting content with the expertise that both have.

The decision to bring two creators that make Apple touted seriously to produce their own content and compete with other streaming services such as Netflix. Moreover, the company already has a similar platform, namely Apple Music.


For information, the first episode of the Apple series titled 'Planet of the Apps' has just aired. Shown first time WWDC 2017 title, this series will be present every week to greet Apple Music customers.

The series focuses on app developers attracting the attention of the jury, namely Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow, will.i.am, and Gary Vaynerchuk.

Participants will be given an opportunity to explain their ideas to the jury within 60 seconds. Later, selected developers will be directed to get funding from venture capital companies.
