The agreement was made when Chairman Alphabet Eric Schmidt and Vietnamese Prime Minister Xuan Phuc met in Hanoi.
"Erich Schmidt said he would be very cooperative with Vietman to remove 'toxic' information, violating Vietman law and considering opening a representative office in the country," the Vietnamese government said in a written statement, from Reuters.
On the other hand, Google says it has no plans to immediately open an office in Vietnam. But the search engine giant insists it has a clear policy on content removal requests from the government.
