Google confirmed it is working to bring its newest mobile operating system, the Android 8.1 Oreo to all Pixel phones within the next few weeks. The information is announced indirectly on Pixel 2 camera uploads on its official blog.

The Pixel 2 smartphone comes with Google's first specifically designed co-processor, called the Pixel Visual Core. This processor handles drawing and Machine Learning applications, and is expected to offer more efficient HDR + processing capabilities and lower latency.

The Visual Core Pixel is not yet usable by Pixel 2 smartphones, but Google promises to enable the co-processor as a developer option in the developer preview of Android 8.1 Oreo in the coming weeks.

In addition, those components will enable all third party apps that use Android Camera API. This allows the application to fully access HDR + support technology on Pixel 2 phones.

In addition to enabling Pixel Visual Core on Pixel phones, no more detailed information about features that might provide Android 8.1 Oreo.

In the meantime, Google announced the use of AmbientSense to conserve battery power due to the Now Playing feature that can be active in the background.
