Instagram announces the presence of shopping functionality in the Stories feature

Through his blog, Instagram announces the expansion of the shopping function on its app, now available in Stories feature. Previously, Instagram only provided vendors to sell their products through Feed or uploads on the homepage.

Instagram called this decision backed by the consideration that the brand has been an early adopter of the Stories feature, and created some of the most watched and associated content with users on the platform.


Associated with this change, Instagram uses a recent survey showing that its users enjoy content in Stories to find out the latest information of their favorite brands and with new trends, in support of its decisions.

This expanded functionality effort called Instagram will allow users to tap a shopping bag sticker on the content, to get more information related to the products that the manufacturer shows on Stories.

This new functionality will help increase exposure for brand content and allow users to interact directly with producers and businesses.
