Asus Promises Android O for Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 3

The Zenfone 4 series runs the operating system (OS) of Android 7.0 Nougat. However, Asus promises smartphone OS released on August 17, 2017 will be updated to Android O.

This was revealed by Head of Global Content Marketing Asus, Marcel Campos, at the launch of Zenfone 4 in Taipei, Taiwan.

In addition to the entire series Zenfone 4, Campos also made the audience cheered by announcing the Android update O will be visited Asus Zenfone 3 series smartphone released in 2016.


The plan, the update process to Android O done gradually until the second half of 2018. That is, both Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 3 will soon get Android O update.

Not only that, the latest smartphone Asus also apply the latest interface, namely ZenUI 4.0. Campos said, compared to previous generation ZenUI, ZenUI 4.0 is more simple but comes with a number of improvements.

"ZenUI 4.0 is simpler, and its interface is better than ZenUI 3.0.ZenUI 4.0 is also faster and lighter," Campos said.


Simple is meant Campos is, Asus no longer install many default applications. "Previously 35 built-in applications, but on ZenUI 4.0, only 13 built-in applications," Campos said.

Furthermore, he also said ZenUI 4.0 features twin apps, allowing users to have two accounts in one app.

Not to forget, Campos also called Asus improve the speed of applications luggage, such as fingerprint sensor in Zenfone 4 34.72 percent faster than the previous ZenUI.


Performance in other applications such as Facebook, Gallery, Google Chrome to phone calls is also accelerated to 40-60 percent.
