"We should all feel uncomfortable with the amount of data they can access, such as profile information that we think should be private data," Wozniak said in an email to CNNMoney. "I'm disgusted on Facebook."
"However, just like all of you, I click 'Accept' or 'OK' or something like that and give it all up on Facebook.I always feel uncomfortable with social media sites because I can sell my stuff, like my photos and get money from it. "
Wozniak expressed his opinion before Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will provide testimony before the congressional committee on the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
Cambridge Analytica is a London-based data company used by Donald Trump's successful team. The company managed to get data from about 87 million Facebook users without their permission. Last month, Facebook blocked Cambridge Analytica from its social media.
Wozniak felt, Facebook does not protect the data of its users as Apple did. Facebook actually get a profit utilizing user information. Wozniak, who co-founded Apple in the 1970s with Steve Jobs, still works at Apple until now.
Wozniak who also founded the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a digital rights advocacy group, said social media users should start to care about how social media work.
"Everyone can go into the Facebook settings menu and look at the ad section and understand why this makes me disgusted," he said.
