The new 7-floor Facebook office will be located at Rathbone Place, near Oxford Circus in central London. The building was designed by Frank Gehry, an architect known for making the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. This new office will be the office of the technicians and developers as well as the sales and marketing team.
This building will also be a startup incubator place called LDN-LAB. Startups from the UK will be invited to participate in a 3-month program created to help them grow their business.
Experts
in various fields on Facebook ranging from technical, product to
partnership will work with the startups as part of this program.
Chancellor
of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond said, Facebook's decision to create a
new office in London is a testament to their belief in the UK.
"Britain is not only the best place to start a new business, but also the best place to grow an existing business," he said.
