The Indian government wants Apple to build factories in the country

India could become Apple's product market apart from America and Europe in the next few years. This is marked by the green light of the local government who wish Apple to open an assembly plant in the country. Indian Trade and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu says he is ready to help provide Apple product manufacturing facilities. Suresh is just waiting for Apple to file it.

"We are looking forward to Apple's proposal, we are very happy if we accept it and we will discuss how to make it happen and help overcome the difficulties encountered by Apple," said Suresh.

Suresh's statement is driven by the increasingly crowded market conditions of the smartphone industry in India. This has since Apple started producing iPhone SE devices in the country by partnering with other manufacturing partners.

This is also in line with the program held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi India since 2014 named Made in India. The program seeks to attract multinational companies to build facilities in India. Apple is one of those interested to open its own retail store in the country.
