SolarCity Co-founder Backing from Tesla

Tesla lost one of the important people in the company. SolarCity's co-founder, Peter Rive, retired from the company exactly eight months after Tesla acquired SolarCity.

SolarCity is a company focused in the renewable energy industry. The company founded by Peter and his brother Lyndon in 2006 is the largest producer of solar panels in the United States.

At that time one source of financial support SolarCity is the founder and CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk. Lyndon withdrew from the company in May 2017.

In a statement, Tesla called Peter to take this decision to explore new opportunities outside the company.

To be recognized, Tesla's acquisition of SolarCity in 2016 is US $ 2.6 billion. This acquisition is one of Elon Musk strategies in realizing its ambition for clean transport and energy companies. Peter's duties at the company include overseeing the development of solar panel roofs, which are expected to begin production this summer.

"Peter's responsibilities, including working on Solar Roof, will be distributed among Tesla's current engineers," Tesla said.
