The DownDetector website reports that the Snapchat app has encountered a problem since 4:43 pm EST or Eastern America time. The chart displayed on the site shows that the complaint reached its peak at 5 pm EST, with a total of 2,889 complaints.
As many as 35 percent of Snapchat-related complaints expressed difficulties in submitting content, or familiarly referred to as a snap. While 35 percent of other complaints revealed problems related to the difficulty of receiving snap or refresh the site.
Meanwhile, 28 percent of Snapchat-related reports mention that the app is experiencing problems early on, and when successfully accessed, the app is closed automatically. The mapping collected by the site shows the most complaints in the northern part of the United States.
Other areas in the United States that are also experiencing problems with Snapchat are Florida and California. In Europe, similar complaints are also shared by Snapchat users located in the UK.
The graph shown DownDetector shows that the number of complaints has decreased, indicating that Snapchat has been fixing the problem slowly. Snapchat is expected to be immediately functional.
Previously, Snap introduced its flagship app with a new design, aimed at promoting more private sharing among groups of friends, and pushing professional content into separate feeds.
