Tencent is working with Bluehole to release PUBG mobile version in China

PUBG
Playerunknown's Battlegrounds will be playable on mobile devices, though only in China. Chinese giant Tencent announced that it is working with PUBG Bluehole developers to create a smartphone version of the game.

Currently, there is not much information available except the game will only be available in China. Tencent said, mobile version of PUBG will have similar structure and gameplay PC version.

The game will be adjustable so it can be played with a smaller screen and controlled using touch. This news comes after Tencent announced that it will release PUBG PC version to China. Both PC or mobile variants of PUBG will be adjusted to the regulations
in the country of China.

It is still unknown whether Tencent will also release a mobile version of PUBG to a country other than China. They just mentioned that the mobile version of the game will be available in China first.

However, this is not the first time a variant of the game was launched exclusively in a country. Prior to this, games like Call of Duty were also adapted into free-to-play games that were only available in China.

No wonder Tencent wants to create a mobile version of PUBG, given that smartphone remains the dominating platform in its home country. Currently, the biggest game in China is Honor of Kings, which has 200 million active monthly players.
