Google Active Investigation Report Screen Burned on Pixel 2 XL

At the end of last week, a number of users of the Pixel 2 XL review unit began to realize problems on the device, a burning impression on the inside of the screen. This information was first reported by Android Central writer Alex Dobie. The Dobie report then spawns other social media users who claim to find similar on their devices. The burning impression is reportedly very visible when the screen uses a gray background, and displays a blur in the navigation key area at the bottom.

The impression of the burning screen is not uncommon, but considered worrying, because it appears within a few weeks after the device is used. This burning impression is not thought to be a real burning effect, and is a ghosting effect.

Google representatives explained that the Pixel 2 XL display is designed using POLED technology, including QHD + resolution, areas that can be covered by a particular color system (wide color), and high contrast ratio, as well as color and good rendering, which have undergone extensive quality testing before it is launched.

In addition to these explanations, Google representatives also mention is conducting active investigations related to the problem report on the screen of the latest flagship device.

If the burning impression is a real burning effect, this can be a big problem, because the screen life cycle is now narrowing.

In the meantime, Google announced it would offer a revenue-sharing agreement on a similar medium to an agreement with the YouTubers. Under the agreement Google will help media that provides paid subscriptions to find new customers and earned revenue will be shared with Google.
