Samsung Adopts New Fingerprint Sensor for Galaxy Note 9?

Fingerprint Sensor
When Samsung launched its premium smartphone, Galaxy S8, earlier this year, they placed a fingerprint scanner on the back, next to the rear camera.

Some people feel, putting this a little strange. Unfortunately, according to a report from KGI Securities, it seems this design will still Samsung use for some time to come.

Based on the 9to5Google report, KGI released a report claiming that Samsung will still keep the fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone, at least for now.

The new Samsung is ready to introduce an integrated fingerprint scanner on the screen next year, more precisely, when showing off the Galaxy Note 9. That means, the Galaxy S9 will likely still have a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone.

Some people feel, fingerprint placement behind the phone is not the ideal place. However, mentioned, the reason Samsung implanted the fingerprint sensor behind is because the fingerprint sensor technology on the screen is not ready when the Galaxy S8 will be launched.

Samsung is not the only company that is difficult to integrate the fingerprint sensor on the screen. As more and more mobile manufactures make phones with thin bezels, they are forced to move some buttons to the back of the phone or to integrate certain features into the screen.

Apple is rumored to be developing an integrated fingerprint sensor on the screen for the next iPhone. However, a report from KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the Cupertino-based company will not use the technology this year. Instead, they will introduce virtual buttons.

At MWC Shanghai held in June, Qualcomm introduced a fingerprint sensor that can be embedded under the screen or metal. They work with Vivo to modify Xplay 6 to showcase the technology. At that time, mobile phones with this technology were nothing more than prototypes.
