Instead of banning laptops in the cabin, authorities are increasing security across airplanes and airports in the US.
Citing the CNET page, it was announced to the public on Wednesday 28 June. The Department of Homeland Security said that the increase in security standards will apply to all commercial flights to the United States.
At least ten airports in the Middle East and Africa that were previously exposed to a ban carrying laptops will also impose similar security rules.
Previously the US Department of Homeland Security reportedly had banned devices such as laptops, tablets, and other devices larger than smartphones to enter the US.
Not only for flights from the Middle East and Africa, reportedly the rules can also be applied to all international flights to and from the US.
Just for information, initially this ban is applied because US intelligence found that terrorists could have hidden explosives in portable electronic devices. Currently on the US Department of Homeland Security page it is mentioned that the authorities impose stricter security screening procedures.
