Kedar Kondap as VP Product Management of Qualcomm Technologies said the two new chipsets had some advantages over its two predecessors 653 and 626. Among them improved image quality and faster LTE capabilities.
"It is now available on a variety of devices without sacrificing performance or quality," Kondap said at Singapore's Snapdragon Tech Day event.
In addition, continued Kondap, other advantages of Snapdragon 660 and 630 is pinned fast charge technology. For example, a smartphone that pinned this chipset will be able to charge 50 percent in just 5 minutes.
Then, Snapdragon 660 and 630 are chipsets of the 600 series which are first equipped with technology that can match the power requirements of signal capture devices. Both platforms also integrate more accurate location detection.
About security, Snapdragon 660 and 630 supported Qualcomm Mobile Security technology that stabbed security focus based on hardware protection, user authentication, and validation in mobile devices.
"Consumers will experience the benefits of enhanced camera, audio, visual processing, connectivity, CPU and GPU performance improvements, faster battery charging, better security and machine learning, so their mobility will be even more special."
Snapdragon 660 and 630 itself has entered the production phase and ready to circulate in the market by the end of May 2017. It is estimated that a number of smartphone brands will use these two mobile platforms for their latest products.
