The European Union allows Apple to complete acquiring music recognition applications, Shazam

After conducting an investigation since April 2018, the European Union finally allowing Apple completed the purchase of the application identifier music, Shazam.  The investigation was conducted because of fears of a United States technology companies prone to doing a monopoly in the market. Earlier, the European Union's competition Commission fined Google USD 5 billion because its Android business violates the rules of the anti-monopoly.

 "Data was important in the digital economy. Therefore, we must review the transaction leads to the acquisition of important data sets, including a potentially commercially sensitive,  "Competition Commissioner of the European Union, Margrethe Vestager in its official description, from CNBC.

Margrethe mentions, it's done his part to make sure Apple doesn't restrict competition in the digital music industry.

"After fully analyzing user data and music Shazam, we found that their acquisition by Apple will not reduce competition in the market for digital music streaming, " she continued.

Shazam is an application that can identify music with just short audio samples. This feature was used by Apple in its virtual assistant services, Series and will be used in Apple's music streaming Music service. With Shazam bought by Apple, will increasingly help Apple compete with its main competitor, Spotify music streaming. Apple first announced the acquisition in December 2017, and buy Shazam with a price of USD 400 million.
