German students design the 'Airbag' to protect the smartphone from impact

Frenzel thought of designing the design after more than one of his smartphone crashed and the screen broke or suffered other physical damage.

In the design of the casing, the airbag is indicated by the existence of a hidden arm inside the casing that is in every corner.

The four arms are hidden and only used when a small sensor inside the casing detects the smartphone is in a free fall state. For his excellent work, Frenzel has recently received an award in the field of mechatronics from the German Society for Mechatronics.
