LG makes for flexible and transparent screens a reality

LG Displays 77 flexible and transparent OLED
LG Electronics has leaked out the concept of transparent OLED screen prototype technology and rollable OLED display. Now the multinational company succeeded in making the concept a reality.

LG showcased the world's first 77-inch transparent flexible OLED display at a Society for Information Display (SID) conference located in Los Angeles, USA. It also shows that LG made great strides for this type of technology.

In the presentation, the display panel is equipped with a resolution of Ultra HD (UHD) 3840 x 2160 pixels with a 40% transparency level and can be rolled up to 80 mm diameter without causing any negative effects on its function.

For now, most of the actual use of flexible and transparent OLEDs is digital signage, much like the transparent and reflective screens that Samsung introduced a few years ago. But later, this screen will begin to be used for a variety of futuristic gadgets.

LG did not explain when they will launch the screen type, but it could be released soon enough, as LG is a South Korean company it is called the first to successfully make the concept of flexible and transparent screens become real.
