Coinciding with the release of the 5G network globally, Huawei is now announcing its first 5G capable device will be present in Q3 2019. This indicates the release at the end of summer next year has become part of the plan.
However, this smartphone brand has not yet confirmed the specific information associated with this new device, including the name it will create. Since this new network support will be available on pre-eminent devices, 5G network modems are expected to be released on the 2019 line of Mate.
For modems, Huawei announced its first 5G modem in February at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 event, although the modem was designed to fit into larger-sized objects such as self-driving cars.
But related to smartphones, Huawei needs to develop smaller alternatives, so the 5G modem for smartphones is not expected to be available any time soon.
In addition, it should also be noted that this new smartphone modem will not only be used by Huawei branded smartphones. Consumers around the world will be treated to a series of devices from different manufacturers that take advantage of Huawei's 5G solution.
Until now, consumers still have to wait for Huawei's decision to launch technology on a known device or choose to launch a smartphone series to test this technology.
More than 1.1 billion 5G connections are predicted to be established in 2025, and more than 200 million units of vehicles come with this network compatibility.
