The latest innovation from Qualcomm was announced at the MWC 2018 event held in Barcelona, Spain. Qualcomm's party claims that the newest lineup of processors has a newer technology when compared with the previous Snapdragon series.
One of them is Qualcomm's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engine. Some other new technologies that exist in this processor is the camera's support capabilities, performance, and power consumption of the device.
All these technologies come with Qualcomm Spectra ISP features, Qualcomm Kryo CPU, Qualcomm Hexagon Vector Processor, and Qualcomm Adreno Visual Processing subsystem at Snapdragon 700.
Related to the ability of AI, this processor can improve the use of AI on the device, allowing the utilization of AI technology that can learn the voice of the user. As for the camera, AI will also be present to help the camera for mobile phone manufacturers can add more features of premium smartphone camera to the middle class phone.
Snapdragon 700 processor is also more economical about power consumption, 30 percent more efficient than Snapdragon 600 series. Snapdragon 700 is equipped with Quick Charge 4+ feature that can make the smartphone to charge up to 50 percent within 15 minutes.
Senior Vice President and General Manager of Qualcomm Technologies Mobile Alex Katouzian said that Snapdragon 700 processor is present to bring the features of the premium smartphone to the device at an affordable price.
Qualcomm plans to release this processor to smartphone vendors in the first half of 2018. Most likely, this new processor will be found on smartphones released in late 2018 or at the beginning of 2019.
