Apple has released iOS 11.2.6 today. Through this update, Apple solved a problem caused by a bug that caused the iPhone to crash after getting a message in the form of a character in Indian (Telugu).

The bug also causes messaging applications like Messages, Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp to be inaccessible. This bug was found last week.

The bug allows anyone to send a character to the iPhone and make the recipient's phone crash and make them unable to access certain sender applications.

The bug also affects Safari and Messages apps on macOS and Apple Watch. Apple has also released updates for watchOS, tvOS and macOS to ensure this bug no longer affects devices with the operating system.

Prior to this, Apple promised to release updates before iOS 11.3. Today, they are launching iOS 11.2.6. Beta versions of iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS are not affected by this bug.

This is the third time Apple launched the iOS 11 update to resolve the bug that caused the iPhone to crash in a few months time.
