Microsoft fixed patch spectre problems from Intel

Microsoft was forced to issue an extra security update this month to cover troubled updates from Intel related Spectre.

Last week, Intel admitted that their own security update is still problematic, causing some computers to reboot. They also mentioned the update could cause data to be lost or corrupted.

Intel has advised computer makers and users to stop installing updates from Intel until they provide updates that do not cause new problems.

Microsoft has taken steps to protect its customers by providing updates for Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Microsoft said the update they provide will prevent the computer from rebooting due to patches from Intel.

Microsoft provides this update as part of the Windows Update catalog. That means you have to download it yourself. You can install this update if the computer you are using has problems due to installing patches from Intel.
