Qualcomm will deliver the Snapdragon 855 production process to TSMC and not Samsung

Over the past few years, Samsung has become a company that manufactures high-end mobile processors designed by Qualcomm. Processors include Snapdragon 820, Snapdragon 821 and Snapdragon 835. Recently scattered information that mentions a factory-related discussion that will take over the duties of Samsung to produce Snapdragon 845. However, Samsung's position is not yet replaceable until Snapdragon 855 entered the production process.

Meanwhile, producing Qualcomm mobile processors is also not a new thing for TSMC. Previously, TSMC has assembled Snapdragon 808 and Snapdragon 810.

By the end of 2018, TSMC will reportedly start production of Snapdragon 855, and modem chips that can not be specified. The task shifting is reportedly not going to adversely affect Samsung.

Because Samsung is rumored to be producing a processor for Apple, in return for its defeat against TSMC related assembly A10 chipset in 2016 ago. Both Samsung and TSMC are the companies in charge of producing the Apple A9 chipset by 2015.

 

The reason Qualcomm chose TSMC to produce Snapdragon 855 is estimated because the Taiwanese company is superior to Samsung, linked to the 7nm node. It is predicted more convincing Qualcomm submit the production process Snapdragon 855 planned using node 7nm.
