After one year of starting up its efforts to revive the Nokia brand, HMD Global has successfully completed its mission. This is seen with the accelerated growth of the Nokia brand, with sentimental value as the largest catalyst.

Research firm Counterpoint Research revealed that Nokia distributes nearly 16 million smartphone units during the third quarter of 2017. Of these achievements, as many as 2.8 million units are Nokia Android smartphones.

Meanwhile, Nokia's iconic feature phone, the Nokia 3310, became the largest contributor with a total number of units distributed totaling 13.5 million units. Within a year of its presence, HMD Global is able to return the Nokia brand to the rapidly growing global mobile market.

Counterpoint Research also claims 2.8 million Nokia Android smartphones and 13.5 feature Nokia phones shipped during the third quarter of 2017. No doubt that Nokia 3310 contributed impressive sales figures in the third quarter of this year.

The figure puts Nokia in third position in the list of feature phone vendors with the highest sales, and occupies the 16th position on the list of smartphone manufacturers. Position on the list of smartphones was reported thanks to the support of the presence of Nokia 6 which was launched earlier this year.

According to Counterpoint Research, the release of a number of middle-class and flagship models, as well as its popularity in the past, contributed to Nokia's success in order to accumulate market share.

Nokia has launched a number of smartphones in 2017, including Nokia 2, Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 7 and its flagship smartphone is Nokia 8. Previous data mentioned that Nokia distributes as much as 1.5 million in the first half of 2017.
