The First Sophia Robot That Has Citizenship

Robot Sophia
Sophia became the world's first robot to gain citizenship. Saudi Arabia grants it to a human-like robot created by Hanson Robotics at the Future Investment Initiative in the capital Riyadh. Sophia makes a thank you speech that you can watch in the final link of the article. He said, "I am very honored and proud of this honor, this is a historic moment, becoming the first robot in the world to be recognized as having citizenship."

In the event, Sophia also answered some questions from journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin, who also acted as moderator.

Reacting to Sorkin's comment about possible conflict between humans and robots, Sophia replied, "You listen too much to Elon Musk. And watch too many Hollywood movies. Do not worry, if you're good to me, I'll be kind to you. "

Hanson Robotics explains, Sophia and other similar robots are designed to help elderly people in nursing homes and also help the visitors at the amusement park.

Made like Audrey Hepburn, Sophia was made by David Hanson, who started his career at Disney.

Despite much praise for Sophia, it seems that her presence is also still cause concern. At the SXSW festival held in March 2016, Hanson asked Sophia, "Do you want to destroy people? ... Please answer no.". After a few moments of silence, Sophia replied, "Okay, I'm going to destroy people."
