Samsung became one of the manufacturers that produce Windows Mixed Reality headset this year. Samsung-made headset is named Odyssey. Samsung HMD Odyssey is equipped with dual AMOLED display, 110-degree viewing angle, external position tracker and in 6 DOF (degree of freedom), and a pair of AKG headphones.

The device becomes the most luxurious Windows Mixed Reality HMD device that has not yet been launched.

Samsung equip this device with two 3.5-inch AMOLED screen and 1.440 x 1.60 pixel resolution with 90 / 60Hz refresh rate.

To connect it to a PC with Mixed Reality technology, it uses HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.0 in a single bond cable setup. In addition, the headset is also equipped with a controller that is available in the sales package, the Samsung HMD Odyssey Controller.

Design carried by Samsung HMD Odyssey for Windows is similar to the result of Samsung's collaboration with Oculus.

Meanwhile, the Oculus headset, Rift comes with an integrated headset and motion controller with similar features to Samsung's device.

The controller includes a clickable touchpad, menu buttons, Windows / Controller power buttons, triggers, thumb sticks, and indicator lights.

On the inside of the controller is equipped with 6-axis accelerometer, 6-axis gyrometer, and 3-axis compass.

Each controller requires two AA batteries that can not be recharged. This headset is available at the Microsoft Store for US $ 499, more affordable when compared to Oculus Rift. This headset is offered through pre-order program and ready to be launched on 6 November.

Meanwhile, the PC that can be used to accompany this headset will receive updates to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update on 17 October.
