Facebook Will Use Face Identifier Features to Login

Facebook
Not just a phone that can recognize the face of its users to unlock, Facebook reportedly also working on the same security features for its services. So later the user just need to face his face to the camera to access his Facebook account. The social media giant has also acknowledged it, though there remain notes.

Facebook explains that the facial recognition feature will only apply when a user wants to recover his account. For example when a user forgets a password, face recognition will be one of the conditions that must be met to recover his account.

So if usually only sent a verification email later possible to recover the account is also required the user's face. You could say this became one of the two-layer authentication process that will run up.

"We are testing new features for people who want to quickly and easily verify account ownership during the account recovery process. This optional feature is only available on devices that you have used to login," Facebook told TechCrunch.

"This is a new step, along with two-factor authentication via SMS, which is done to ensure account owners can confirm their identity," the social media added.

Facebook claimed to have tested this facial recognition feature to a small group of users. And on average feel very helpful with this security feature. But so far there is no information when Facebook will actually release it to the public users.
