Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Can Play Netflix HDR

The list of devices supported by the ability to play Netflix content with HDR resolution is now getting bigger, after Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Sony Xperia XZ1 are announced also equipped with compatibility to play the content.

Both devices are found Android Police contained in the FAQ column on the official website of the popular content streaming service. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 became the first Samsung smartphone to officially support Netflix HDR service compatibility.


Samsung's previous flagship device, the Galaxy S8 and S8 +, armed with HDR resolution screen but has not received permission from Netflix to pin the compatibility on this device. The same is also found on Samsung's flagship tablet, the Samsung Galaxy S3.

The presence of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Sony Xperia XZ1 add to the ranks of devices that support the service, complementing the LG G6, LG V30 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium which has been previously supported by Netflix HDR.

This service offers real-time picture display for a number of shows and movies, and was first available on LG G6 in May.


Then the service is available to a number of phones with support for HD resolution and HDR screens, although the G6 is the only device equipped with Dolbu Vision standard audio technology.

To be able to enjoy the service, users are advised to make sure it has the latest version of the app and firmware of the phone.

Meanwhile, Netflix is trying to extend its contract with Disney to defend their rights to distribute Marvel and Star Wars movies after his contract with Disney expires in 2019.

Netflix is still "actively discussing" with Disney to extend their contract to broadcast certain franchises.


While Samsung utilizes IFA 2017 to launch WW8800M washing machine equipped with QuickDrive technology.

The technology allows this machine to complete the laundry within 39 minutes. In comparison, usually, the process of washing clothes finished within 70 minutes.
