iOS 11 Releases September 19th

iOS 11
Apple's latest mobile operating system, iOS 11 will be launched on September 19, along with iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. Apple first introduced its newest mobile operating system during the WWDC event in June.

There are several new features that Apple introduced on iOS 11 then, such as the use of Apple Pay in iMessage, split screen feature on iPad, ARKit, Do Not Disturb mode when users drive and so forth.

There are several other features that Apple just introduced on iOS 11, especially on the iPhone X. Here are some of these features:

Portrait Lighting and Selfie Mode

At first glance, Apple showcased the mode of "portrait lighting", which is in the iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus. This mode will use information from multiple cameras to mimic professional lighting on an object. "It's not a filter, but analysis is in real-time," said Apple executive Phil Schiller. Currently, Portrait Lighting is still in beta stage, therefore, chances are, it is still not perfect.

The front camera of iPhone X is also now equipped with portrait mode. That means you'll be able to take a selfie photo with a blurred background.

This feature has actually been provided by Android smartphone makers specializing in selfie features, such as Oppo and Vivo. However, maybe Apple will be able to give better results.

Face ID

One of the biggest changes to the iPhone is the loss of the Touch ID on the iPhone X. Instead, Apple instills Face ID, a technology that utilizes infrared cameras and 3D technology to recognize the user's face.

Just like Touch ID, Face ID will be able to unlock the phone, authenticate identity when paying with Apple Pay and other functions that have been done by Touch ID.

Animated Emoji

Apple created the Augmented Reality application development platform, ARKit. However, not only the platform will be used to make the application serious. That is why Apple introduced animated emoji or animoji. This feature allows emoji to mimic your facial expression.
