Today
Intel has revealed that the company will announce their 8th generation
Core processors, estimated Coffee Lake, and related architecture on
August 21st. This announcement comes as the company is launching the Core i9 Skylake-X processor.
Officially,
Intel has not yet published the Core architectural map, but what is
widely expected to be revealed on August 21st is the Intel Coffee Lake
processor.
Coffee Lake is a further evolution of Skylake and Kaby Lake, and like its predecessors, the company has ensured that 8th generation processors will be created with their 14nm process.
What little is known about Coffee is that it will need a new chipset and the desktop processor will not work on the 200 series motherboards.
Intel has several times set a fairly consistent release and approximately every year for the Core processor family. In addition to Broadwell delays, Intel usually launches new processors in the summer / autumn for the past half decade.
