Although previous reports indicate that production volumes for the new iPhone have started, but said yield-level reports on two major ODMs, Foxconn Electronics and Pegatron have not reached levels that guarantee mass production.
According to reports quoted from Digitimes, new iPhone devices will be present in three versions of the iPhone 7s LDC version of 4.7 inches, iPhone 7s Plus 5.5 inch LCD version, and iPhone OLED version.
Foxconn has secured approximately 95% of orders for OLED models and small volume orders for models of 4.7 and 5.5 inches. While Pegatron will produce 65% iPhone 7s 4.7 inches and a small portion of OLED models. Then, third-party ODM Wistron will produce 5.5 inch models.
The production volume of the 4.7 and 5.5 inch models at Foxconn and Pegatron is now expected to enter full swing in August, one to two months later compared to normal mass production of the new iPhone the previous year. According to the Daily Economic News (EDN) newspaper, both Foxconn and Pegatron declined to comment on the rumors.
