Referring to Reuters, the data center will be backed by full renewable energy. Meanwhile, Facebook has also announced it will build a data center in the Copenhagen-sourced country.
Apple has previously expressed its support for the Paris climate deal by switching to renewable energy.
Recently the company led by Tim Cook issued green bonds (green bonds, bonds that meet elements of environmental sustainability) worth US $ 1 billion after the United States out of the Paris climate agreement.
To note, Tim Cook is one of several influential corporate CEO in the US who directly objected to President Donald Trump to keep the US in favor of the deal before Trump finally made a decision.
Apple said the data center will begin operations in the second quarter of 2019 in the Aabenraa region in southern Denmark near the German border. Mentioned, the data center will strengthen Apple's online services, including iTunes Store, App Store, iMessage, Maps, and Siri for users across Europe.
"We are very excited about the expansion of our data centers to Denmark and our decision to invest in renewable energy sources," Erik Stannow, Apple's manager for the Nordic region, said in a statement.
