
The Taiwanese company is Foxconn, Compal, Pegatron and Wistron, each of whom is Apple's partner in assembling its products. Those with Apple will register a new lawsuit against Qualcomm, regardless of the claims they have previously filed.
The lawsuit will be registered at the Federal District Court in San Diego, United States. The lawsuit is still the same as the previous one, accusing Qualcomm of fixing exorbitant royalty fees and violating antitrust laws.
For Apple, Qualcomm is actually a major component supplier. But Apple does not have a direct cooperation agreement with Qualcomm, because they pay licensing fees through the four companies mentioned above.
Apple itself stopped paying royalties to Qualcomm after they received a lawsuit from Qualcomm for US $ 1 billion, which was then countered with a counter-claim, according to The Verge.
In addition to Apple and its four partners, Qualcomm was also sued by the United States Federal Trade Commission for monopoly practices. Allegations have been previously denied by Qualcomm.
