The unnamed 45-year-old man was reported to the Zurich district court, Switzerland. And in court, this man was found guilty of having such a slanderous comment.
In a court ruling, the sued man was considered guilty even though he was not the one to write the commentary. He is considered to participate in disseminating and supporting the comments.
The comments themselves were posted in 2015, precisely as he heats up a discussion in several Facebook groups about animal welfare. The comments contained slander and damaged Erwin Kessler's good name.
Kessler himself was an animal activist accused of being racist and anti-semitic in the comments. From here the lawsuit against the man came from, as quoted from the Telegraph.
Kessler sued a number of people associated with the comment, both the writing and the likes. And those people are sued for defamation charges.
