"I want to make Mars feel possible, something we can do for the rest of our lives, there's a way people can go there if they want to," Elon said in a publication in the journal New Space.
According to Elon, humans will eventually face events that lead to extinction. So the alternative is to inhabit the planets in the solar system that allows.
"I really can not predict the apocalypse but based on history, there will be such an event," writes one of the world's richest people.
And so far only Mars seems likely to be inhabited because of its many natural resources as well as some similarities to the planet earth. But there are many obstacles, for example there has been no spacecraft with human passengers to get there.
Even if there is, the cost is predicted very expensive. But not Elon's name if not optimistic. He believes all the challenges there is a solution so that humans can build urban on the red planet.
"If things go very smoothly, maybe it's 10 years from now, but I'm not saying really going to happen then, there's a big risk and high cost," said the actress Amber Heard.
"There is a possibility we will not succeed, but we will do our best and try to make as much progress as possible," he added quoted from Economic Times.
