Users Can Charge Electric Cars Wirelessly

As time goes by, electric car technology increasingly sophisticated. Most recently, charging for electric cars can be done wirelessly.

Qualified chipset maker Qualcomm said it has tested how an electric car can be powered wirelessly as it travels. This technology is believed to help accelerate the adoption of autonomos cars.

The "Dynamic Charging" trial took place on the streets of Versailles, France.

Quoted by Reuters, this test involves two Renault Kangoo cars that are speeding along the cushions embedded in the road it passes. The bearing diverts an electric charge to a car battery of up to 20 KW at an average speed on the freeway.


Experts predict autonomous car resources in the future are electricity and therefore, autonomous cars need a way to charge themselves without human intervention.

Just for information, wireless charging is an important research area for car makers, suppliers, and startups like xChargepoint, WiTricity and HEVO Power.

Qualcomm, which supplies chipsets to Android and Apple mobile phone makers, is also attempting to become a chipset supplier in the fast-growing automotive market.
