Based on Investopedia's report on October 5, 2016, Steve Ballmer has a 4 percent stake in Microsoft, making it the largest individual shareholder in the company.

Based on the rank of The World's Billionaires 2017 released Forbes, Ballmer occupies the 21st position with a net worth of US $ 30 billion (assuming exchange rate per US $ 1).

According to Net realtime records worth Forbes, Ballmer's net worth is $ 31.1 billion and Microsoft is one of its richest sources.


Ballmer left Stanford University in 1980 to become Business Manager for Microsoft and his friend while at Hardvard, Bill Gates. Gates is one of Microsoft's founders.

Along with his increasing position, Ballmer helped Microsoft grow to become one of the most profitable companies in the history of the United States (US). In 2000, he served as CEO and expanded the company's focus through the announcement of the Xbox game system.

Ballmer took off as CEO of Microsoft on February 4, 2014, and also his position in the Board of Directors in August of the same year.
